The Magyar Posta commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first Hungarian stamp issue with a joint Hungarian-Austrian souvenir sheet. Designed by Anita Kern and produced at the ANY Biztonsági Nyomda in 60,000 copies, this sheet is available from August 25 at post offices and the Filaposta, and can also be ordered online from the Magyar Posta's web store. The year 1867 marked a turning point in the history of the Hungarian state and postal service, as the Compromise and the coronation of Emperor Franz Joseph I as King of Hungary restored Hungary's statehood following the passive resistance after the 1848 Revolution and unfavorable international developments for the Habsburg Empire.
